10 YEAR STREAK........broken :(

Well, after 10 long years of no accidents....I(JJ) broke my streak yesterday. Thankfully, no one was hurt, except my pride and self confidence a little. It was my fault though,

I made an unsafe turn.

We were coming back from the parent/teacher conferences for the kids, and decided they are such great kids. So, we went out to eat and to get ice cream. Pulling out of the Arctic Circle parking lot, I crossed the road to make it over to the neighborhood street. There was a little car turning in, and a BIG truck. Well, on the other side of that truck....was a little silver car. I did not even see it...the sun was also blinding me at that point as well. I heard a screech (of his brakes), and a crash sound. But, I didn't feel anything. So, either we have a sturdy car, which I think we do, or I was clueless....I don't know. I said to Jerry, " What was that?"

Then we figured it out. So anyway, so much for my 10 year accident free streak.

The last accident I had was in the corolla that Andy drives.

Both cars are still drivable, so we were able to move them out of the road, and drive them home. His car was a 2007 Chevy Cobalt, so, his right(passenger side) front corner took the hit.

The kids were a little leary (I could tell by their comments) of riding to school with me this morning, but I told them I needed to drive, and I needed to drive the 4runner to conquer my new found fear. I had to overcome it. It worked...I will be ok. Probably won't drive too far from home for a couple days though.

Everyone is ok though, so I am grateful for that.
