Hailey and a few classes from her school went on a fieldtrip yesterday. I got to go with them too...that is always so fun. Hailey was so cute talking about how excited she was the night before and could hardly fall asleep.

"Mommy, that is the biggest geode I have ever seen!"
We went to the Natural History Museum. It had so many cool things, but Hailey said her favorite was the mine. It was in a part of the museum that had all the rocks, minerals and gems.

Of course the dinosaurs are always a big hit, I think they are cool too. I learned something new about them, wherever the bones are found thru-out the world, that determines the color of the bones. The fossils absorb the minerals in the ground in that area of the world...so they come in all different colors. Cool, huh? These were black...I liked these.
Ahhhhh! She is being eaten!
Actually, we watch this show called Jacob Two-Two on Qubo, and there is a part where Jacob's friend, Buford says, "This feels kinda squishy.....It's nice!" And we have gotten such a kick out of that phrase lately, so I was saying that to Hailey while her arm was in that dinosaurs mouth.
The other artifacts were so cool too, our family could spend hours and hours in a Natural History Museum...we love that stuff. We will have to go back sometime and bring Gabe and Jerry too. Then we can look at everything better.
Here is our group, we had 2 parents and 5 kids. You wouldn't think that would be hard...but 2 of them would not stay with us. They just wanted to wander off on their own. But, everyone made it back ok...so it all worked out.
After the museum, we went to the park for lunch. When I got there, Hailey was making sure that
the seagulls had plenty to eat too. Is she my kid, or what?
I got such a kick out of these rules, I had to take a picture of them, and I think I will have to figure out a way to hang them in my house. They seem so simple and to the point.
Here she is all lined up with the class, ready to go back to school for a couple of hours. The teacher was joking with them about having to walk 5 1/2 miles in laps when they got back. But, instead they got to watch Night at the Museum. The kids liked that idea much better.

What fun pictures! It's been a LONG time since our family went there...I think Ben was a baby! We'll definitely have to back! That butterfly picture is soooo cool!
